While we wait for spring to come…

The design of GJD STRIPES is based on the classic stripes and the traditional damask technique, while the overall expression is fully in keeping with the GJD product line, which is more trend-oriented than the classic damask products.

GJD STRIPES comes with matching GJD EGYPT kitchen towels, completing the mood in the kitchen. The GJD Spring/Summer Collection 2012 also includes GJD DAMASK TERRY in three lovely colours and a range of sizes.

The GJD product line consists of colourful, modern soft furnishings in up-to-the-minute colours and designs which reflect the latest trends. GJD is recognisable by the orange tag on all products in the range and has the same quality and characteristics as the classic damask products. GJD products feature in the collection for a limited period only – typically six months to a year.

GJD STRIPES will be available in GEORG JENSEN DAMASK stores throughout Denmark and at damask.dk from week 9. To find your nearest retailer, please call tel. + 45 7552 2700. The price is EURO 13,- for tea towels and kitchen towels. Terry costs EURO 13,- for 40 x 70 cm, EURO 26,- for 50 x 100 cm, EURO 39,- for 70 x 140 cm, and flannels of 32 x 32 cm sell for EURO 5,-.

At the home of Tobias Jacobsen’s parents, a dusty box stood tucked away in a corner of the loft. The box turned out to contain the most unique patterns and sketches by Tobias’ grandfather, the famous architect and designer Arne Jacobsen, including the beautiful geometric YPSILON sketches which now adorn GEORG JENSEN DAMASK’s first organic range of bed linen in the KIDS product line.

The spring sunshine is finally beginning to show its face, inspiring dreams of light summer evenings in the garden with food cooked on the barbecue and enjoyed in the company of friends and family. POPPY is not only a symbol of summer, but also the name of the latest damask tablecloth in the GEORG JENSEN DAMASK collection.

FUSUMA, Georg Jensen Damask's latest design, is the result of a fortunate cultural encounter where Asiatic fashions meet Nordic and create a point of contact where the sparks really fly. Designer Rika Kawato, born in 1981, is the daughter of a Danish mother and a Japanese father, and this influence from two such widely differing cultures has always been a fundamental element of Rika's work as a designer, as can also be seen in her FUSUMA tablecloth.
