GEORG JENSEN DAMASK gives Christmas a warm welcome with wonderful products to adorn decorative Christmas tables, bring happiness when given as presents and provide warmth during the cold winter. The classic and popular CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH will be launched in two new colours; John Becker’s retro-style tea towels have been given a touch of Christmas and the popular MEADOW bed linen is launched in new, inviting and beautiful colours. Last, but not least, New Year is celebrated with the CRYSTAL damask tablecloth in two new colours.

The delights of the Christmas table from GEORG JENSEN DAMASK
The braided Christmas hearts and stylised spruce twigs in a simple design have represented the quintessence of the Danish Christmas spirit for generations. For decades, the CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH has been an integral part of Danish Christmas table arrangements.  This year, two new versions of Bodil Bødtker-Næss’ beautiful design will be launched: A rich, red version which will cheer up the warm and classic Christmas spirit, and an elegant fustian grey tablecloth with matching napkins that gives modern inspiration to cosy Christmas traditions. Both colours are also used for place mats and runners and matching napkins. The CHRISTMAS TABLECLOTH is available in several standard sizes with widths of 140 and 165 cm and costs, for example, DKK 1,420 in the 140 x 240 cm size. Napkins cost DKK 95 each.

Becker’s Christmas
Christmas is not Christmas without Becker’s brilliant tea towels in the kitchen. This Christmas, the carefully designed tea towels with checks and stripes will be launched in a special Christmas edition in red, white and flax grey, which all combine to give a cosy Christmas spirit in the kitchen. In 1963, textile designer John Becker designed the tea towel which marked the beginning of GEORG JENSEN DAMASK’s production of designed tea towels. They have since become a fixture in the kitchen and very popular to give as presents. The BECKER 63 Christmas edition of tea towels and the matching EGYPT kitchen towel are available in the 50x80 cm size at a price of DKK 98 each.

True MEADOW warmth in the cold
Christmas time is cosy time. The GEORG JENSEN DAMASK bed linen made from soft, long-fibred Egyptian cotton is an invitation to spend some calm and cosy time in the cold winter. Textile designer Bess Kristoffersen has designed MEADOW, and the beautiful new colours midwinter and september are an elegant match to the simple, stylised flower garlands which gracefully combine feminine romance with masculine lines. The MEADOW bed linen is available in several standard sizes and costs DKK 1,490 for a set in the 140 x 200 cm size.

Celebrate New Year with CRYSTAL
CRYSTAL is the name of the beautiful geometrical damask tablecloth designed by Vibeke Klint. The lightness of the tablecloth creates an ideal setting for festive and stylish New Year celebrations. The clean and logical design expression is perfectly supplemented by the new and beautiful colours, coffee and slate, and the New Year table setting becomes even more beautiful with matching napkins that complete the graceful appearance of the table. CRYSTAL is available in several standard sizes with widths of 140 and 165 cm and costs, for example, DKK 1,420 in the 140 x 240 cm size. Napkins cost DKK 95 each.

FUSUMA, Georg Jensen Damask's latest design, is the result of a fortunate cultural encounter where Asiatic fashions meet Nordic. Designer Rika Kawato, born in 1981, is the daughter of a Danish mother and a Japanese father, and this influence from two such widely differing cultures has always been a fundamental element of Rika's work as a designer, as can also be seen in her FUSUMA tablecloth. FUSUMA is sold from week 40.

In 1963 the textile designer John Becker (1915-1986) designed the tea towel which launched GEORG JENSEN DAMASK’s designed tea towel production. Becker’s deliberate check pattern and stripes were a substantial success and ever since, tea towels created by designers have been a large and stable part of the product range. The 2011-version of BECKER 63 will be available in the colours Brown Sugar, Peppermint, Candyfloss and Green Tea. These colours have a strong retro touch, and the old archives were consulted in order to match the original shades as closely as possible.
