1902-1971
The ARNE JACOBSEN collection was launched as a tribute to Denmark’s world-famous architect and designer at the centenary of his birth in 2002. The unique combination of timelessness and trend originates in a large collection of un-produced sketches which he left at his death. The design was originally launched as a damask tablecloth, but the collection has since been expanded with place mats, runners, sofa cushions and bed linen, so that GEORG JENSEN DAMASK now offers an extensive collection of the designer’s brilliant universe. Arne Jacobsen is famous for classics such as the Egg and Swan chairs, manufactured by Fritz Hansen, the Cylinda line for Stelton, Arne Jacobsen cutlery for Georg Jensen – and architectonic classics such as the Danish National Bank, SAS Royal Hotel and St Catherine’s College, Oxford.
